Black Walnut (Green Hulls) (Juglans nigra) - Contains astringent tannins that may help kill and expel a variety of worms and other parasites. Known as a blood purifier. Contrary to popular belief, Black Walnut is safe when used in therapeutic doses for short periods.
Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) - This familiar spice has surprisingly strong antimicrobial properties and is toxic to parasite eggs.
Epazote (wormseed) (leaves) (Chenopodium ambrosioides) - A tropical plant traditionally used by indigenous peoples to kill and expel roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and amoebic parasites such as Giardia.
Fenugreek Seed (Foeniculum vulgare) - Helps relax and soothe the smooth lining of the digestive tract and helps relieve gas that can occur while using this formula.
Papaya Leaf (Carica papaya) - Contains proteolytic enzymes that digest parasites in the intestines.
Pumpkin Seeds, raw (Curcubita pepo) - Said to be helpful in clearing tapeworms.
Sage (Salvia officinalis) - Used for its bitter and astringent properties, which create inhospitable conditions for gut-dwelling worms.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) - Has powerful antioxidant activity to help reduce inflammation; research suggests it may be helpful against nematodes (roundworms).
Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) - Contains thujone and other compounds that causes worms to lose their hold on gut tissues, thus allowing the body to expel them. Traditionally used against roundworms, pinworms, tapeworms, and similar parasites.
Suggested Use
For Dogs and Cats - 3 times per day, give 1 drop for every 2 pounds of body weight up to 50 pounds, plus 1 drop for every 4 pounds of body weight over 50 pounds. For example, a 70 lb. dog would be given 25 drops + 5 drops = 30 drops, three times each day (total 90 drops).
This tincture may be mixed with a small amount of wet food or baby food; given by dropper or syringe directly into mouth; or mixed with up to 1/2 cup of warm water.
Use for 10 days. In areas where parasites are common, you may wish to administer the treatment twice per year.
In cases where re-infestation is unavoidable and severe, it is recommended to repeat treatment no more than once per month.
Do not use continuously: parasites may develop resistance; then the formula will no longer be effective.
Additional Instructions
It is important to administer the remedy 3 times per day consistently for a full 10 days - spreading out doses as evenly as possible over the course of the day. Even missing one or two doses can make a difference.
It can take 3 days or more for the worms to begin to be eliminated, depending on the overall health of the animal and whether or not the animal is constipated. If the animal is constipated, using Only Natural Pet Laxa-Herb in conjunction with this formula is recommended since constipation will hinder the process.
Cautions
Consult with a Holistic Veterinarian if animal has kidney disease, liver disease, or seizures or for animals taking blood thinning drugs
Do not use in pregnant or lactating animals.
A Note About Heartworms
This formula may be used to aid in the elimination of heartworms, but if your pet has heartworm disease (adult heartworm infestation in the heart and lungs), then you should consult a veterinarian and follow a traditional heartworm disease treatment program (there is no natural cure for heartworm disease).
