NWC Naturals Pet Products Total-Biotics Powder® 14 Species
Acidophilus DDS-1 - a strain-researched and developed for over 77 years, Acidophilus is the most effective pro-biotic strain. Called the "sticker strain," Acidophilus has the ability to actually cling to the intestinal wall without harming it. It is best known for its ability to move un-disrupted through the stomach and into the intestines where it eats away at bad bacteria in your pet's gut. It is known for reducing the occurrence of constipation and diarrhea, increasing nutrient uptake (especially calcium), preventing food poisoning, and alleviating dermatitis and other skin and coat conditions.
B. bifidum — a normal inhabitant of the intestines and found in large numbers, the numbers of bifidobacteria decrease with age. B. bifidum helps detoxify the intestines and promote regular bowel movements.
Bacillus coagulans — often used in veterinary applications, especially as a probiotic in pets, Bacillus coagulans has been added by the EFSA to their Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) list] and has been approved for veterinary purposes by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Veterinary Medicine, as well as by the European Union and is listed by AAFCO for use as a direct fed microbial.
Bifidobacterium breve — helps to modulate the local and systemic immune responses and may exert a range of beneficial health effects, including the regulation of intestinal microbial homeostasis, the inhibition of pathogens and harmful bacteria that can colonize and infect the gut mucosa in pets.
B. lactis (B. animalis) — a Gram-positive anaerobic rod-shaped bacterium found in the large intestines of most mammals, these were previously described as two distinct species. Both are now considered B. animalis with the subspecies Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies animalis and Bifidobacterium animalis subspecies lactis. Both names B. animalis and B. lactis are still used on product labels, as this species is frequently used as a probiotic in pet products
B. longum — aids in the cleansing and health of the colon and liver.
L. brevis — a species of lactic acid bacteria, all of which are Gram-positive, non spore forming organisms whose main metabolic pathway involves fermenting hexose sugars to produce lactic acid, it can be isolated from the food sources in inhabits, one example being kimchi. This bacteria is probiotic, and improves the immune system.
L. casei — reported to be one of the most potent defenders from Listeria bacteria, it is also known for its ability to induce an immune response that is helpful in supporting a healthy urinary tract
L. plantarum — found in the large intestine where it helps to break down protein into usable nutrients, normalizing inflammation. It is also known for repairing free radical damage from aging, stress, antibiotics, chlorinated water and other chemicals and contains an antioxidant that helps protect against the toxins present in pets' diets and in treating the pain caused by arthritis.
L. rhamnosus — one of the more highly studied probiotic strains, primarily used in support of normal gastrointestinal health, it also aids the body in balancing the normal flora ecology and supports a healthy urinary tract.
Lactococcus lactis — shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which is able to inhibit the growth of H. pylori, reducing the associated inflammation and risk of peptic ulcers. Is also beneficial to supplement the diet in maintaining normal intestinal flora.
L. salivarius — shown through research to produce a high amount of lactic acid, which can inhibit the growth of H. pylori bacteria
Streptococcus thermophilus — known for repairing free radical damage from aging, stress, antibiotics, chlorinated water and other chemicals, it also contains an antioxidant that helps normalize inflammation and protect against the toxins.
L. Bulgaricus — one of several bacteria used for the production of yogurt. It is also found in other naturally fermented products.
NWC Naturals Pet Products Total-Biotics Powder® also contains:
Prebiotics-Inulin IQ FOS (Fructooligosaccharides) - one of the best-known pre-biotics, is a class of simple carbohydrates found naturally in certain plants, such as Jerusalem artichokes, onions, and bananas. FOS is known to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. It has been shown to stimulate growth of bifidobacteria in the colon where many diseases first take root. Supplementing with FOS can greatly increase metabolic activity in the colon and help relieve constipation and reduce the production of intestinal putrefactive substances. Healthy colon function is vital to a properly functioning immune system.
MGG chelate (The only patented stabilized glutamine in the world) - This stabilized Glutamine re-writes the book on utilizing anabolic nitrogen molecules to help cleanse and fortify the body. Glutamine yields beneficial effects on the intestinal mucosa and is also the major metabolic fuel for the small intestine. The addition of the chelated glutamine to Total-Biotics supports the stability and colonization characteristics of beneficial bacteria in the pet’s intestinal tract and is an essential nutrient that is required by the intestinal cells. It can actually help repair a damaged intestinal tract.
